Lake Minnetonka, and especially Wayzata Bay, is a fantastic vacation spot!
Below, are some links to interesting tidbits and enjoyable ammenities of the area.
Deephaven City Beach is my favorite of the 5 beaches within 1.5 miles from our house. Map at below link will show you where they are. This is the most beautiful area of Lake Minnetonka for maple trees colors in the fall for walks/bicycles. You can ride a bicycle or drive to this small beach on a beautiful bay and marina. Plus, the beach has a life guard.
Directions: From my house turn Right onto Breezy Point Road.
Go 700 yards to Maplewood Road and turn Left.
Go 700 yards South to Minnetonka Blvd. and turn Right
Minnetonka Blvd. turns into Northome Road, then turn Left on Deephaven Ave. Go South for 1000 yards and turn Right on Lake Ave which takes you right to the Deephaven Bay and beach area. Less wind and facing West!
Robinson's Bay Beach (Deephaven City)
is the smallest beach and closest to my house, so I really like it - very convenient to use. This beach also has the best sunset views (4 miles across the lake) to the West - without needing a boat to enjoy.
Wayzata City Beach is the largest beach (with life guard) and it’s right downtown Wayzata, walking distance to all shopping & restaurants. Play grounds, boat docks and city garden are all together.
